The role
Samsara, an IoT-based operations platform, is hiring a Data Engineer for its Data team to build and maintain pipelines that turn device and product data into its core analytics data model. This is a remote position for candidates residing in Canada.
What you will do
- Design and maintain pipelines in the central data lake, mainly with SparkSQL and PySpark
- Build reliable computed tables from sensor, product, customer metadata and unstructured data such as video and audio
- Integrate external datasets with internal data
- Deliver high-quality, reliable data, including customer-facing datasets
- Work with Data Science, Analytics and AI/ML teams on data for modeling and dashboards
What they ask for
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field
- 4+ years in a data engineering role
- Experience designing data models at scale and building ETL pipelines for large volumes
- Experience with Spark-based platforms and an orchestration tool such as Airflow, Dagster or Prefect
- Strong SQL and Python and experience with REST APIs
- Experience with Git and GitHub
- Reside in Canada
