The role
1Password is hiring a Director of Analytics Engineering to lead the team that builds its trusted data models and pipelines. The role reports to the VP, Data Analytics, and serves Marketing, Finance, Product and Data Engineering. It is remote within the United States and Canada.
What you will do
- Own the roadmap and execution for analytics engineering, including data models, semantic layers, BI tooling and pipelines
- Hire, manage and develop analytics engineers, with clear career ladders and performance practices
- Set standards for modeling, testing, documentation, code review, deployment and data quality
- Review complex dbt models, optimize SQL and help troubleshoot high-priority pipeline issues
- Act as senior partner on data modeling and metric governance
- Work with Data Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Product and GTM leaders to build a prioritized roadmap
What they ask for
- Significant experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or data architecture, including leading teams
- Strong SQL and dbt, including advanced modeling, incremental processing, testing and multi-environment deployment
- Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling (Kimball or star schema) in B2B SaaS
- Experience with cloud warehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery or Redshift
- Experience setting semantic layer strategy and trusted metric definitions
- Ability to turn business priorities into a data platform roadmap for senior stakeholders
- Experience with CI/CD and orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster or Prefect
- Located in the United States or Canada
