The role
GitLab is hiring a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer for the EMEA region. The role places a product engineer with strategic customers to resolve adoption blockers, contribute code to GitLab, and drive adoption of its AI agent platform.
What you will do
- Contribute production-quality fixes, features, integrations and tooling to GitLab through its merge request and review process
- Diagnose complex customer problems across CI/CD, Git, APIs, infrastructure, networking and cloud environments
- Coordinate with Product, Engineering, SRE, Support and Customer Success teams from discovery through handoff
- Drive governed adoption of GitLab Duo Agent Platform, resolving blockers around governance, security and compliance
- Turn field findings into reference architectures, documentation and product improvements
- Write technical content such as whitepapers, webinars and strategy memos

- Technical standards and contribution discipline of a Staff-level product engineer
- Ability to work directly with strategic customers on urgent, ambiguous technical problems
- Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, API automation and cloud environments
- Based in the EMEA region (the role is EMEA only)
