The role
Samsara, the connected operations cloud company, is hiring a lead design engineer to build its design system in code across web and mobile. The role is remote and open to people living in Canada.
What you will do
- Define components, patterns, tokens and guidelines for people and AI agents to build with
- Ship interactive UI across web and mobile in both design and code
- Codify design principles and quality standards for AI-generated UI
What they ask for
- 8+ years in design engineering, design systems or front-end engineering for web and mobile
- Degree in Computer Science, HCI or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with design tokens, theming and accessibility standards
- Regular use of AI coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code, connected to a design system
- Experience working with designers, engineers and product managers in short cycles
