The role
The company is placing a full stack developer with an Australian digital learning company that builds interactive online courses and software. The developer joins the team behind a learning creation platform and a learning marketplace. Open to Philippines-based contractors working Australian hours.
What you will do
- Own features end to end from the MongoDB model through the Express API to the React screen
- Take over and document an existing multi-repository codebase
- Build features in the drag-and-drop learning editor, interactive learning objects and SCORM 1.2 export
- Work on the Next.js marketplace, including Stripe subscriptions and billing
- Maintain the Node/Express back end, authentication and admin functions
- Add automated tests, upgrade older code and work through Bitbucket pull requests
What they ask for
- 3+ years of commercial full stack JavaScript development
- Strong Node.js and Express, including REST APIs, authentication and sessions
- Strong MongoDB and Mongoose, including schema design, indexing and migrations
- Strong React and Redux across Create React App, React 18/19 and Next.js
- Comfortable in codebases with limited documentation and tests
- Solid Git skills including feature branches, pull requests and submodules
- Clear written English for async updates to an Australian team
