The role
GitLab is hiring a Senior Assigned Support Engineer in the AMER region to support its largest Self-managed, Dedicated and GitLab.com customers. The team is fully distributed and the work is remote.
What you will do
- Support the largest customers so their GitLab environments stay stable and performant
- Troubleshoot complex, critical issues using Zendesk, logs and Linux tools such as strace
- Build proactive relationships with key customer stakeholders
- Work with Product, Development, Infrastructure, Customer Success and Sales on bug fixes and roadmap
- Write documentation and knowledge articles for customers and colleagues
- Join pairing sessions and hiring interviews
What they ask for
- Experience managing complex customer support cases from triage to resolution
- Advanced troubleshooting of multi-layered technical issues
- Strong Linux system administration (LFCE or RHCE level)
- Practical experience with GitLab and CI/CD
- Scripting in Ruby or Bash and familiarity with MVC frameworks, preferably Rails
- Ability to write clear knowledge articles and runbooks
- Located in the AMER region
