The role
GitLab is hiring a Senior Professional Services Engineer to deliver installation, migration, training and advisory services to customers adopting GitLab. The role is remote-global and largely asynchronous.
What you will do
- Deliver GitLab installation, migration, training and advisory engagements
- Plan deployments from single-node Omnibus installs to large reference architectures using infrastructure as code
- Lead migrations from other systems to GitLab SaaS or self-managed GitLab
- Advise customers and turn goals into practical implementation plans
- Pass customer feedback to product and engineering teams
- Mentor Associate and Intermediate engineers and run several engagements at once
What they ask for
- Professional exposure to Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, Chef or Kubernetes
- Experience with two or more cloud providers such as AWS, GCP or Azure
- Experience using or deploying GitLab, with solid Git knowledge
- Experience delivering customer-facing installation, migration or training services
- Ability to manage projects independently and direct other engineers
- Strong written and verbal English in an asynchronous remote setting
- Grounding in security and AI technologies
