The role

Mozilla is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Add-ons team, which runs addons.mozilla.org, the DevHub for extension developers, and the Reviewer tools and automated moderation systems behind Firefox add-ons. The work spans features, engineering standards and platform reliability.

What you will do

  • Deliver major features and architecture improvements across the Add-ons stack, including moderation pipelines, Reviewer tools and DevHub
  • Help set engineering standards such as code review, production readiness, runbooks, incident response and on-call practice
  • Build observability systems and data-backed insights
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines with declarative, pipeline-as-code approaches
  • Write design notes, Architecture Decision Records, runbooks and incident write-ups
  • Work with designers, product managers, QA and community contributors, and contribute in the open

What they ask for

  • Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining production applications in Python and Django
  • Experience operating production systems where reliability and safe delivery matter
  • Strong experience with CI/CD and treating pipelines and infrastructure as code
  • Experience designing automated testing and deployment workflows, including staged or progressive delivery
  • Understanding of observability: metrics, logging, tracing, SLOs and alerting
  • Experience building or maintaining internal tools or platforms used by other engineering teams
  • Ability to read unfamiliar codebases and trace behavior across frontend, backend, async jobs and infrastructure
  • Strong technical writing and collaboration in a distributed team
