The role
Affirm is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer for its Communications team, which runs the platform delivering billions of customer messages. The role is remote and open to applicants based in Spain, with visa sponsorship available.
What you will do
- Design backend services for high-volume customer communications
- Build and run integrations with external messaging vendors
- Define SLOs, improve alerting and join on-call
- Mentor teammates and improve engineering standards

- 5+ years in software development with deep system design knowledge
- Experience designing multi-region, multi-tenant platforms
- Experience integrating third-party messaging vendors
- Experience planning delivery of significant features
- Must take part in an on-call rotation
