The role
Samsara is hiring a senior offensive AI security engineer inside its Application Security team to use frontier AI models to find vulnerabilities in its cloud, software and firmware. Open to US residents outside the SF Bay Area, NYC and Washington, D.C. metro areas.
What you will do
- Assess Samsara software, code and firmware, including resilience against AI-driven attacks, and drive fixes
- Find AI-specific and traditional vulnerabilities such as injection and IDOR with AI-driven offensive validation
- Build and test AI-enabled security tooling and push adoption across the security organization
- Benchmark each new frontier model for security tasks and set release criteria and guardrails
- Support vulnerability triage via an office-hours rotation and help run the bug bounty program
- Present findings to security and executive leadership
What they ask for
- 8+ years in application security, vulnerability management, threat modeling or offensive security
- Hands-on experience building AI or agentic workflows for security
- Experience with technical security assessments of software and hardware or firmware
- Experience building secure code solutions with engineers in languages such as Go
- Experience developing AI solutions with GitHub and in AWS
- Experience integrating, securing or red-teaming LLM and agentic systems is essential
- Live in the US outside the SF Bay Area, NYC and Washington, D.C. metros
