The role
Mozilla is hiring a Staff Data Scientist for its Monetization Data Science team, serving as the lead data partner for the Ads business while protecting Firefox user privacy. The work covers measurement, analysis and recommendations for executives.
What you will do
- Act as lead Data Science partner to Product, Engineering, Sales, Finance and leadership on the Ads business.
- Own complex analytical problems end to end, from framing the question to recommendations and follow-through.
- Develop measurement frameworks for new ad products, including metrics, experimentation, instrumentation and reporting.
- Analyze ad revenue and performance to find drivers and weigh trade-offs.
- Explain findings and uncertainty to audiences from engineers to senior executives.
What they ask for
- 8+ years in data science, analytics or applied quantitative roles, owning business-critical analysis.
- Experience in digital advertising or a related monetization business.
- Strong Python and SQL, with statistical, experimental and forecasting methods.
- Ability to frame ambiguous problems independently and reach clear recommendations.
- Strong analytical judgment and communication with executives.
