The role
Samsara is hiring a senior or staff firmware engineer to bring up new hardware and build drivers, bootloaders and power management for its IoT sensors and dashcams. The role is remote in the San Francisco Bay Area.
What you will do
- Help choose SoCs, memory and sensors with electrical engineers
- Bring up new boards and peripherals
- Build drivers, secure bootloaders and firmware updates
- Optimise power use on battery-powered devices
- Mentor engineers through reviews and designs
What they ask for
- 8+ years building firmware for resource-constrained systems
- Led firmware for several products from concept to launch
- Substantial bare-metal and RTOS experience (Zephyr, FreeRTOS or similar)
- Experience bringing up hardware with SPI, I2C, UART and BLE
