The role
Grafana Labs is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the SRE team that keeps its Mimir, Loki, Tempo and Pyroscope cloud databases reliable for top-tier customers. The role is remote for candidates in the UK, Sweden, Spain or Germany.
What you will do
- Own production reliability for high-SLA, complex customer environments, embedded within the Mimir, Loki and Tempo squads
- Define per-tenant SLOs and reduce SLO burn to prevent repeat incidents
- Act as a primary escalation point and on-call for incidents, leading response and post-incident reviews
- Build automation to remove toil and improve alert quality
- Review designs and code, and influence features so they scale and are operable in production
What they ask for
- 8+ years of engineering experience, 4+ of them in SRE, CRE or production engineering
- Strong Kubernetes experience on AWS, GCP or Azure, plus infrastructure-as-code such as Helm, Terraform or Jsonnet
- Experience running multi-tenant systems in production and designing SLOs
- Proficiency in a language such as Go, Python or Java
- Knowledge of Linux internals, networking and cloud storage
- Technical leadership and mentoring experience
- Ability to work from the UK, Sweden, Spain or Germany
