The role
GitLab is hiring a Director of Social Media to lead its global social strategy, including YouTube, LinkedIn and X, as a player-coach. The role owns budget, tooling and results, and works with communications, marketing and talent teams. Remote.
What you will do
- Lead the global organic social strategy, channel plans and editorial priorities
- Own the YouTube strategy end to end, from programming to packaging and growth
- Coordinate paid social with Growth Marketing and run creator, influencer and advocacy programs
- Own the social budget, tooling and agency or freelance relationships
- Build the measurement framework and report results to leadership
- Guide the response to sensitive or fast-moving issues
What they ask for
- 10+ years in social media, including 5+ years leading social strategy for a global brand at senior manager level or above
- Experience owning a social function end to end: strategy, budget, headcount, tooling and results
- Experience leading teams, agencies and cross-functional programs
- Depth in YouTube strategy, with experience growing a brand or business channel
- Hands-on experience growing LinkedIn and X as primary channels
- Comfortable working in an all-remote, asynchronous company
