Runway, a business planning platform that aims to replace spreadsheets for finance teams, is hiring an Engineering Manager to build and lead its engineering team. It is remote-first for candidates in North America, with quarterly meetups in San Francisco.
What you will do
- Hire engineers and build a high-performing team during a growth phase.
- Set technical direction together with the founders.

- Make architectural decisions when needed while spending most time multiplying others' impact.
- Ship products that help finance teams act as strategic partners.

- Proven success building engineering teams at high-growth startups, Series A through growth stage.
- Record of improving team output, including shipping cadence (especially through AI), fewer incidents and faster hiring.
- Experience building a culture of high standards.
- Strong full-stack background to act as architectural tie-breaker.
- Based in North America.
- Nice to have: React/TypeScript and Go, data engineering, founder or fintech/SaaS experience.
