The role
Cohere is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a team of Forward Deployed Engineers who deploy its North AI platform into customer private cloud and on-premises environments. The role is remote-first and based in North America.
What you will do
- Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers
- Drive end-to-end deployment of North in private cloud and on-premises environments
- Own customer success from technical implementation through delivery
- Work with Product, Engineering and Sales on delivering AI to enterprises
- Coach the team on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes and enterprise deployments
- Tune OpenSearch, databases and other Kubernetes services, and set GPU/CPU scaling guidelines
What they ask for
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated leadership
- Hands-on experience deploying enterprise software at scale
- Strong cloud infrastructure expertise across Azure, AWS and GCP
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience managing engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Excellent English communication; located in North America
- Nice to have: additional European languages, AI/ML infrastructure
