The role
The company is hiring a Staff Frontend Engineer for the DataViz squad, which builds Grafana's visualizations such as Table and Gauge. The work is open-source TypeScript and React. The remote role seeks candidates in the US or Canada in EST or CST time zones.
What you will do
- Lead multi-quarter technical initiatives from problem framing to rollout, including user feedback and measuring results
- Mentor engineers and raise the bar through code review, design feedback and pairing
- Join on-call for the services you help build and help with incident response and learning
- Give technical support in customer escalations and identify areas of high friction
- Write design proposals, run demos and argue for the roadmap across squads
What they ask for
- Solid experience leading teams through projects and mentoring engineers
- Clear communication in a fully remote, asynchronous environment
- Experience being on-call and supporting software in production
- Ability to tackle complex engineering problems with minimal supervision
- Practical familiarity with AI technologies and frameworks
- Located in the US or Canada, working EST/CST hours
- Open-source contribution and observability tool experience are a plus
