The role
The company is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead its Billing team, which owns plans, subscriptions, usage-based billing, invoices and payments. The role covers people, delivery and technical leadership rather than writing production code. It is remote-first.
What you will do
- Run 1:1s, performance management, career development and onboarding for direct reports
- Own the hiring plan and act as hiring manager for the Billing team
- Own the Billing roadmap and project management in Linear and manage intake and triage
- Balance new pricing features with correctness, resilience and technical debt
- Keep stakeholders aligned with weekly updates and surface risks early
- Act as Incident Commander and lead blameless post-incident reviews
What they ask for
- 5+ years of engineering background, credible with engineers building complex systems
- 3+ years managing remote engineering teams
- Experience managing a billing engineering team at a cloud, SaaS or developer tools company
- Experience with remote, async teams across time zones
- Ability to take part in architecture and design discussions
