The role
The company is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical direction of Convert, its experimentation, personalization and analytics products for marketing teams. Remote-first, for candidates in the US or in BC and ON, Canada.
What you will do
- Set the long-term architecture for backend systems behind experimentation, personalization and analytics
- Design high-throughput distributed systems and APIs that process large volumes of visitor and event data
- Lead platform and data infrastructure investments
- Work with data scientists and ML engineers to productionize AI/ML features
- Lead multi-team, multi-quarter initiatives from strategy to launch and operation
- Mentor staff and senior engineers and raise the engineering bar through reviews and standards

- 12+ years of software engineering, with backend and distributed systems at scale
- Strong foundation in languages such as Python, Java or Go
- Experience running high-throughput, data-intensive systems in production
- Technical leadership across ambiguous, cross-team initiatives
- Clear communication with technical and executive audiences
- Located in the US or in BC or ON, Canada
- BS/BA degree or relevant experience
