The role
The company, the Postgres development platform, is hiring a Multigres Deployment Engineer to own deployment and operations for Multigres, its distributed Postgres platform. You will maintain the Go-based Kubernetes operator and cloud deployment tooling. Hiring is global and fully remote.
What you will do
- Build and maintain the Multigres Operator, a Go-based Kubernetes operator for distributed Postgres
- Design deployment patterns for EKS and other Kubernetes platforms
- Manage storage and networking layers, including CSI drivers, persistent volumes and cross-cloud networking
- Build internal tools for provisioning, scaling and managing Multigres clusters
- Add monitoring, alerting and diagnostics to the deployment layer
- Work with database engineers, SRE and product teams
What they ask for
- Strong systems programming skills and proficiency in Go
- Experience building production-grade Kubernetes operators or controllers
- Deep Kubernetes knowledge, including custom resources and EKS, GKE or AKS
- Understanding of database deployment, backup/restore, replication and high availability
- Familiarity with distributed systems, consensus protocols and failure scenarios
- Infrastructure-as-code experience such as Terraform or Pulumi, and cloud provider APIs
