The role
The company is hiring an engineering manager for the team behind its Snap Store and Charmhub marketplaces, built as Python and Go microservices. The product is a highly scalable SaaS system. Remote in the Americas, Europe, Middle East or Africa.
What you will do
- Lead a remote team of engineers in your time zone
- Coach and mentor engineers and support their careers
- Set expectations with other engineering teams and stakeholders
- Build clean web service APIs for CLI and web front-end clients, in Python and optionally Go
- Work with other the company teams, the open source community and partners
What they ask for
- Experience leading modern agile software development
- Python development experience; Go is a big plus
- Practical Linux system administration experience
- Track record of mentoring and growing people
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Willing to travel up to four times a year for internal events
