The role
The company is hiring a Staff Firmware Engineer for its Safety Firmware team, which builds camera systems and edge AI for fleet and industrial safety products. The role spans firmware, Go backend services and web and mobile. Remote, for residents of the US and Canada.
What you will do
- Own outcomes from a vague customer problem to a shipped, measured feature across firmware, Go backend and web and mobile
- Drive technology choices and set architectural patterns from device to cloud
- Build voice-powered interfaces for AI agents and humans
- Design for device constraints, connectivity, cloud services and fleet-scale rollout
- Ensure edge AI algorithms are accurate and fit within device limits
- Partner with the Hardware team on next-generation devices and mentor engineers

- Deep hands-on firmware and embedded systems expertise
- Comfort across the stack, including Go backend services and web and mobile surfaces
- Experience leading technical work as a staff-level engineer
- Ability to work with AI agents by default and raise AI fluency in others
- Residing in the US or Canada
