The role
The company is hiring an Engineering Manager for the AirCover Insurance Platform, which supports host liability insurance, experiences liability insurance and host damage protection. The manager leads senior and staff backend engineers. US remote eligible in states where the company has a registered entity.
What you will do
- Set long-term technical strategy for the AirCover platform with senior leaders
- Lead the team building policy, coverage, enrollment, pricing-input and experimentation systems
- Make regulatory, pricing and coverage rules configurable for new countries
- Own the roadmap, technical direction and operational health, including on-call and incidents
- Work with data scientists and ML engineers to bring models into experimentation
- Hire, mentor and develop engineers
What they ask for
- 10+ years in tech, including 5+ years as an Engineering Manager of large-scale systems
- Track record of holding multi-year technical direction on a live business-critical platform
- Backend and distributed systems depth with high-availability services
- Experience using experiments and data to improve conversion or attach rate
- Experience managing senior and staff engineers
- Live in a US state where the company has a registered entity
