The role
The company, a Canadian financial services company, is hiring a Senior Software Developer for its AI Platform Foundations team. The team builds shared, governed AI tooling for the company's engineers across a Ruby, Python, TypeScript and Java/Kotlin stack. The company describes itself as a hybrid team.
What you will do
- Build the shared AI tooling platform, consolidating one-off LLM tools into a governed platform
- Build AI-assisted automation such as code review, automated PR approvals and deployment checks
- Design guardrails, policy controls and verification layers for safe AI use
- Track adoption, satisfaction and impact across a polyglot engineering organization
- Set standards for LLM integrations, cost governance and tooling strategy
- Mentor others through documentation and code reviews
What they ask for
- 7+ years of software development, with platform engineering or developer tooling experience
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs, AI APIs, agents or automation
- Product mindset for internal platforms, treating engineers as customers
- Experience with two or more of Ruby, Python, TypeScript or Java/Kotlin
- Experience building governance, policy or guardrail systems
- Data-informed decision-making and cross-team collaboration skills
