The role
The company is hiring a platform software engineer to build and run core platform services for its Managed Postgres offering. The work is mostly in TypeScript and Go on distributed systems. The company hires globally and the role is fully remote.
What you will do
- Design and build distributed services and APIs for the the company platform
- Lead projects that improve scalability, reliability and cost efficiency
- Build background jobs, data-intensive workflows and event-driven pipelines
- Own service SLIs and SLOs and take part in incident response and reviews
- Improve observability with metrics, logging, tracing and profiling
- Write design documents, RFCs and tests, and help improve CI/CD and releases
What they ask for
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems: consistency, fault tolerance, partitioning, back pressure
- Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Go, ideally 5+ years of production services
- Comfort with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and container orchestration
- Familiarity with multi-tenant architecture, API design and data modelling
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and security practices
- Infrastructure as Code experience (Pulumi preferred; Terraform or CDK fine)
- Willingness to join on-call rotations
