The role
The company, a Canadian financial services company, is hiring a senior backend developer for its Post-Trade Management team. The team builds the automation behind clearing, settlement and inventory reconciliation with external depositories. The posting describes the company as hybrid.
What you will do
- Design and deliver post-trade automations across depositories for new and existing products
- Contribute to technical design decisions for the post-trade processing pipeline
- Mentor other developers through pairing, code review and quick feedback
- Use AI tools to speed up development and try new ideas
- Work with Securities Operations, Product Management and other engineering teams
What they ask for
- Senior-level backend development experience, with a focus on Ruby on Rails
- Experience designing and delivering complex automations or data pipelines in production
- Comfort with high-stakes systems where correctness and auditability matter
- Experience mentoring engineers through code review and pairing
- Strong communication with operations, product and engineering partners
- Nice to have: Java, Kotlin, React, Oracle, Postgres, Kubernetes or AWS
- Nice to have: fintech, brokerage, custody, clearing or settlement experience
