The role
The company, a healthcare booking marketplace, is hiring a Senior Platform Engineering Manager to lead a portfolio of platform teams covering backend platforms, AI development platforms, developer tooling and shared services. The role leads through managers and senior and staff engineers.
What you will do
- Lead and grow Platform Engineering teams through managers and senior and staff engineers
- Set multi-year portfolio strategy and make investment, sequencing and sunset decisions
- Resolve cross-team trade-offs on sequencing, reliability and operations
- Set safe, measurable patterns for AI-assisted development with privacy, security and quality guardrails
- Treat platforms as products, drive adoption and simplify migrations
- Own portfolio reliability, on-call practices and learning from incidents
What they ask for
- 10+ years building and shipping software, grounded in platform, infrastructure or software engineering
- 4+ years leading multiple teams, including through managers
- Deep expertise in a platform domain such as developer platforms, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure or shared services
- Strong judgment in distributed systems, architecture, reliability and security
- Record of treating internal platforms as products and measuring impact
- Experience coaching engineers and managers, including performance management
- Experience evaluating or integrating AI tooling into engineering workflows
