The role
The company, a messaging platform used by over 9,000 companies, is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a squad of engineers. The work covers either customer-facing product or reliable distributed systems, built with Go, React and AI tooling.
What you will do
- Lead a squad through projects end to end, from planning to delivery and follow-through
- Set milestones and ship in small, observable increments despite competing priorities
- Keep solutions scalable, secure and well covered by review, QA, documentation, logging and monitoring
- Join design reviews, architecture discussions and incidents
- Coach direct reports, hire, onboard and manage performance
- Take part in an on-call rotation as required and use AI tools to speed up the team's delivery
What they ask for
- 3+ years managing engineers at a SaaS company, ideally early to mid stage
- Track record of driving delivery with clear milestones and ownership
- Strong technical background, able to take part in architecture and design reviews, with recent shipped work
- Comfort working with high autonomy and making tradeoffs between priorities
- Experience bringing AI-first practices into how a team builds
- Experience building inclusive, collaborative teams
- Clear written and verbal communication
