The role
The company is hiring a senior staff cloud platform engineer to set the multi-year technical strategy for its Infrastructure Services organization, covering compute, network and edge, and stateful platforms. The role is hands-on and remote within Canada and the US.
What you will do
- Set multi-year technical strategy and architecture standards across infrastructure teams
- Decide where the organization invests, balancing reliability, security, cost and delivery speed
- Write design docs, prototype and review the hardest designs
- Step into serious incidents
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and help shape hiring
- Work with engineering, product, security and finance leadership
What they ask for
- Experience setting infrastructure direction across multiple teams or a whole organization
- Kubernetes at production scale: multi-cluster, multi-tenant, with autoscaling, GitOps and fleet upgrades
- Working knowledge of networking, edge and stateful data systems
- Experience defining SLIs, SLOs and error budgets that multiple teams adopted
- Measurable cloud cost reduction through engineering
- Security-by-design practice: workload identity, least-privilege IAM, credential rotation
- Proficiency in Go or similar and Terraform
