The role
The company is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to work across its backend services and a product area on the neighborhood network. Hybrid near offices in several cities, with a team spread across Toronto, New York and San Francisco.
What you will do
- Develop backend services in Python/Django, Kotlin/JVM and Go
- Work with SQL, GraphQL, Redis, Postgres, Kafka and AWS
- Improve shared backend frameworks
- Mentor engineers building the next generation of the product
- Work with product management, data science and design on what to build
- Join in-person events such as trainings and off-sites
What they ask for
- 6+ years as a software engineer and a CS degree or equivalent experience
- High-initiative leader who can drive technical vision
- Strong coding and debugging across systems and domains
- Experience designing and deploying flexible backend systems at scale
- Willingness to use AI tools as part of the workflow
