The role
The company, an eCommerce company, is hiring a Lead QA Developer to build automated testing for its React-based Shopify Hydrogen storefront and internal middleware. The focus is stable releases, cleaner CI/CD integration and fewer flaky tests.
What you will do
- Architect, optimize and scale automated test frameworks across the storefront and backend middleware
- Integrate automated tests into cloud CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable developer feedback
- Reduce flaky tests and track coverage, pipeline stability, runtimes and defect leakage
- Guide and review the work of other QA developers
- Cover API contract, performance, load and browser profiling testing
What they ask for
- 5+ years of QA development with automated testing strategies you have built or scaled
- 2+ years of leadership, mentoring or coaching experience
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript
- Hands-on with Cypress, Playwright or similar frameworks
- Experience running automated tests in cloud-based CI/CD pipelines
- eCommerce experience
- Nice to have: Python, PHP, Figma, Storybook, Jest
