What you will do
- Design and ship moderate to complex backend features with little guidance
- Build the framework that defines, counts and observes application rate limits and migrate existing implementations onto it
- Define backend standards for testing, APIs, security and operational readiness
- Mentor associate and intermediate engineers through code and design reviews
- Diagnose reliability and performance problems at scale and take part in incident response
- Integrate agentic AI into engineering workflows and coach others on using it responsibly

- Proficiency in modern backend languages and systems programming; ability to learn matters more than one language
- Experience designing modular backend boundaries and migration-safe architectures
- Clear asynchronous written communication and the ability to direct your own work
- Experience building or operating agentic AI systems in production
- Helpful: Kubernetes, PostgreSQL or ClickHouse, high-throughput distributed systems, open source work
