The role
Discord is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for its Ads team to own advertising data models, ML feature data and conversion measurement pipelines. The role works closely with Data Science, ML and product teams; the posting does not state location limits beyond a US salary range.
What you will do
- Design and own core ads data models, including fact and dimension tables and aggregation layers.
- Build ML data for ads ranking, delivery and targeting, including features, labels and input observability.
- Build conversion measurement pipelines and integrate attribution partners such as Adjust, AppsFlyer and Singular.
- Build batch and near real-time pipelines on a BigQuery, dbt and Dagster stack.
- Develop data quality checks, anomaly detection and SLA monitoring for critical ads pipelines.
- Align Data Science, ML, Ads Product and GTM teams, and mentor engineers.
What they ask for
- 5+ years writing production code and building data pipelines for high-volume consumer data in ad tech.
- Deep expertise in ads delivery, conversion measurement, attribution or ML feature data.
- Experience building data models in a greenfield environment with changing requirements.
- Expert-level SQL and Python.
- Experience with data quality audits and anomaly detection on datasets of billions of rows.
- Strong technical communication and cross-functional collaboration.
- Nice to have: Looker or Tableau, streaming pipelines (Kafka, Spark Streaming).
