The role
ClickUp is hiring a Senior Database Reliability Engineer for its Database Operations team. You would run the performance, integrity, security and availability of PostgreSQL databases on Linux in AWS, focusing on day-to-day administration.
What you will do
- Administer and monitor production PostgreSQL databases of 250GB and more on RDS, Aurora and EC2
- Handle patching, upgrades, vacuuming, reindexing and statistics management
- Run backup, restore and disaster recovery procedures and test them regularly
- Manage user access, roles and database security
- Plan capacity and storage, and troubleshoot bottlenecks, locking and failed jobs
- Support application teams with query tuning and schema changes, and join on-call rotations
What they ask for
- 7+ years as a senior database administrator or database engineer
- Strong PostgreSQL administration, including backups, recovery and performance tuning
- Understanding of database security, access control and compliance
- Experience managing large production databases of 250GB or more
- Strong Linux administration skills
- SQL plus a scripting language such as Bash or Python
- Familiarity with AWS database deployments (RDS, Aurora, EC2, S3)
