The role
Coinbase is hiring a Senior Threat Intelligence Engineer within its Security Operations Threat Intelligence team. The role tracks adversaries targeting Coinbase and turns signals into detections and intelligence for decision-makers. Coinbase is remote-first with quarterly in-person sessions.
What you will do
- Automate tracking and analysis of cyber threats aimed at Coinbase customers, staff, products and infrastructure
- Present intelligence analysis to stakeholders, partners and executives
- Model and curate the threat landscape in Vertex Synapse and review peers' analysis
- Build relationships in threat intelligence communities to widen information access
- Handle a high volume of intelligence requests with timely, documented reports
- Act as subject matter expert on threats facing Coinbase, crypto and finance
What they ask for
- 5+ years in operational threat intelligence, incident response, security research or cyber investigations
- Proficiency in a programming language such as Python or Go, and SQL
- Ability to turn technical threat analysis into clear briefs for technical and executive readers
- Track record of self-directed investigations with minimal oversight
- Skill in open-source intelligence (OSINT) research
- Willing to attend quarterly in-person sessions
