The role
Coinbase is hiring a software engineer for the CDP Foundations team in its Developer group. The team builds the core platform pieces businesses use to launch crypto products: developer portal, custodial accounts and KYC/KYB onboarding APIs. You would build backend services and APIs for partners.
What you will do
- Build, deploy and maintain scalable, secure backend services in a microservices and distributed architecture
- Define internal and customer-facing APIs that act as building blocks for CDP, with clean design and good developer experience
- Lead delivery of features from implementation through deployment and monitoring
- Reduce technical debt and improve reliability and observability
- Take part in code reviews and on-call rotation, and lead incident response
What they ask for
- 2+ years building and maintaining production backend services in a microservices or distributed environment
- Experience designing and shipping internal or customer-facing APIs with clean interfaces
- Familiarity deploying and testing in microservice ecosystems with structured observability and monitoring tools
- Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly, in writing and in live discussion
- Responsible use of generative AI tools with human oversight
