The role
ClickUp is hiring a Staff Backend Engineer for the Hierarchy squad, which owns core tier 1 services including the ClickUp filesystem. You will scale high-throughput backend services on TypeScript, Postgres, Kafka and AWS.
What you will do
- Build and maintain scalable backend systems with Node.js (Express and NestJS)
- Tune and optimize database queries
- Improve existing code for performance
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues
- Work with engineers, designers and product managers
- Share knowledge to support a learning culture
What they ask for
- 8+ years building backend services for SaaS products
- Track record of building and scaling backend systems
- Expertise in relational query optimization, preferably PostgreSQL
- Background with SQL and NoSQL databases and data modeling
- Strong RESTful API design skills
- Experience with microservices, Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with agile methods and Git
