The role
Toast is hiring a staff software engineer and tech lead for its Care Experience team, which builds the tools Toast's care agents use to support restaurants. The work includes migrating to a new omnichannel contact center platform and integrating backend systems. The role is remote in the US.
What you will do
- Drive end-to-end development of care agent tooling
- Connect the contact center platform with backend systems for real-time customer context
- Partner with Product, Care and QA on the roadmap
What they ask for
- 8+ years of software engineering with Java, Kotlin or another object-oriented language
- Experience with AWS-native integrations such as Lambda, EventBridge or Kinesis
- Experience integrating third-party platforms and vendor systems
- Ability to turn operational workflows into technical solutions across teams
