The role
Coinbase is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for Core AI Infrastructure on the IT Operations team, which builds internal AI products and the infrastructure behind them. The role owns reliability and automation of that infrastructure. Coinbase is remote-first.
What you will do
- Deliver AI products end to end, including serving infrastructure, data pipelines and deployment orchestration
- Design APIs, abstractions and tooling so product teams can adopt AI capabilities
- Align infrastructure needs with engineering and product leaders across groups
- Set architectural patterns, mentor engineers and raise standards for code quality and observability
- Build full-stack internal applications in Go or Python
What they ask for
- 8+ years automating and supporting AWS cloud and network infrastructure
- Hands-on infrastructure as code with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet or Salt
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, Ruby or Go and Git-based CI/CD
- History of building reusable infrastructure and APIs adopted by multiple teams
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight
