The role
Discord is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead its next-generation experimentation platform, including AI-assisted experimentation workflows. The platform lets teams across Discord test product hypotheses with data.
What you will do
- Design, build and support the experimentation platform: core services, data pipelines, configuration tooling, statistical tools and UX
- Work with stakeholders across the company, some of them non-technical
- Influence product telemetry practices to support experimentation
- Build high-scale data systems and internal tools used by many teams
- Lead and mentor engineers
What they ask for
- 7+ years as a full-stack software engineer
- Experience building internal tools and knowing A/B testing and statistical frameworks
- Experience with experimentation tooling; building core platform parts from scratch is a big plus
- Record of leading complex technical projects to a shippable result
- Experience with data governance, privacy and security controls
- Proficiency in Python and SQL; TypeScript or Rust is a plus
- Experience with relational, NoSQL and data warehouse datastores
- Strong product sense and cross-functional communication
