The role
Vox Media's Criminal Productions, home of the Criminal podcast, needs a temporary six-month full-time producer for podcast video and social content. The role is remote, on East Coast business hours (9 am to 5 pm Eastern).
What you will do
- Produce long-form video for Criminal's YouTube channel from recording coordination through final publishing
- Produce short-form video for YouTube Shorts and other social platforms from podcast moments
- Create thumbnails, titles and copy for YouTube videos
- Plan social promotion of new episodes and events with show producers
- Make social assets such as images, GIFs, stories, reels and motion graphics for each show
- Track views, reach, engagement and follower growth and use them to guide strategy
What they ask for
- Demonstrated ability to produce long-form and short-form video, especially talk or interview formats
- Strong storytelling instincts about which moments to highlight
- Understanding of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook
- Editing skills in tools like Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or After Effects
- Image design skills in Photoshop, Illustrator or Canva
- Ability to juggle several shows under tight deadlines
- Available during East Coast business hours
- Podcast or editorial media experience; audio editing familiarity is a plus
