The role
Supabase is hiring an experienced Database Support Engineer for its Support team to help developers resolve complex issues on its Postgres platform. The role is full-time and requires being located within EMEA time zones; Supabase is fully remote.
What you will do
- Resolve advanced customer issues across Postgres, Auth, RLS, Storage, Realtime, Edge Functions and client libraries.
- Advise advanced users on optimizing workloads and avoiding common pitfalls.
- Reproduce bugs, isolate root causes and escalate to engineering with clear reproduction steps.
- Spot patterns across tickets and recommend documentation, tooling and product improvements.
- Mentor junior team members and raise support quality.
What they ask for
- 7+ years in technical support, databases, backend engineering, SRE or a similar field.
- Deep PostgreSQL knowledge, including autovacuum, WAL growth, long-running transactions and table bloat.
- Strong SQL and query optimization skills.
- Experience troubleshooting multi-tenant schemas and distributed system behavior, including Edge Function failures.
- Experience with data migration problems (pg_dump/restore, schema drift, failed migrations).
- Hands-on AWS experience and comfort in terminal and Linux environments.
- Located within EMEA time zones; full-time.
