The role
The company, the pay-over-time company, needs a senior backend engineer for its Workload Safety team, which sets and enforces standards for how workloads run across more than 85 Amazon EKS clusters. The remote role is open to people living in most Canadian provinces.
What you will do
- Define and evolve workload safety standards such as resource settings, isolation and graceful termination
- Take each standard from research and prototyping to automated enforcement across the fleet
- Fix stuck workloads and node lifecycle problems
- Set safe operating limits for clusters and design control plane scaling patterns
- Mentor engineers and lead cross-team rollouts
What they ask for
- 5+ years running Kubernetes in production at scale, ideally Amazon EKS
- Experience enforcing configuration standards with admission control and policy-as-code (OPA Gatekeeper, Kyverno)
- Experience measuring the effect of infrastructure changes on availability, latency and cost
- Must live in AB, BC, MB, NB, NL, NS, ON, PE or SK
What they offer
- Equity rewards may be offered
- Monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech
- Fully subsidized medical, dental and vision cover
