The role
The the company is running a paid, four-month software engineering internship from late February to June 2027, placing interns on engineering teams with a mentor. It is fully remote in the US and open to graduates, non-graduates and career changers.
What you will do
- Deliver a defined project on an engineering team
- Work with a manager and mentor on open-source code
- Learn how Wikimedia software is built and deployed
What they ask for
- Basic experience with a programming language such as PHP, JavaScript, Python, Kotlin or Swift, or interest in security and privacy
- Basic database experience
- Basic scripting experience
- Commitment to 40 hours a week for four months
