The role
The company is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for mobile QA on the App Infra team in Consumer & Business. The team is rewriting the retail mobile app natively in Swift and Kotlin to replace React Native. You would set the test infrastructure and release quality gates for about 30 product teams.
What you will do
- Own the technical strategy for mobile QA infrastructure across the native rewrite
- Build automated regression test systems and decide what is automated and what stays manual
- Lead QA readiness for the phased rollout, including success metrics, resourcing and operations
- Decide when to add testing investment and when to pull back
- Define SLOs and quality dashboards with engineering, product and design leaders
- Write the QA onboarding playbook, set the hiring bar for QA contributors and mentor engineers on test architecture
What they ask for
- 8+ years of software engineering with deep mobile test infrastructure expertise for native iOS and Android at scale
- Track record of delivering test infrastructure strategy that other teams rely on
- Strong Swift and Kotlin, able to architect test frameworks and debug native app behavior
- Experience running QA through large migrations, including dual-codebase parity checks and phased rollout gates
- Experience leading SEVs and postmortems
- Ability to align cross-team partners on quality standards and release criteria
