The role
The company is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for native mobile on the App Infra team in Consumer & Business. The team is replacing the React Native app with Swift and Kotlin builds, using AI-driven agentic workflows. The role sets the technical bar as product teams move to native.
What you will do
- Own the architecture of core native app surfaces in Swift and Kotlin, including module boundaries and compile-time checks
- Stay hands-on, writing and reviewing code across the team's codebases
- Lead the agentic code translation workflow and decide what is automated versus reviewed by people
- Improve developer experience through build speed, local workflows and CI/CD reliability
- Shape the strategy for keeping native and React Native codebases in sync during the transition
- Mentor mobile engineers and set best practices across the mobile community
What they ask for
- 8+ years of iOS or Android engineering, with working proficiency in the other platform
- Track record of shipping mobile apps at scale and owning architecture, performance budgets and release quality
- Deep knowledge of mobile performance: cold start, frame stability, scroll jank, time to interaction, low-end Android
- Ability to turn org strategy into team-level technical execution and secure cross-team commitment
- Experience with AI-assisted code generation or LLM-driven development workflows
- Experience improving build systems, CI/CD pipelines and release tooling
