The role
The company is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer for native mobile on the App Infra team in Consumer & Business. The role acts as technical architect for replacing the React Native app with Swift and Kotlin builds, across the team and about 30 product teams.
What you will do
- Define the technical strategy for native app development at the company
- Lead the AI-assisted migration, designing reusable automation such as agent swarms and automated dual-repo synchronization
- Architect a paved-road native framework in Swift and Kotlin so one engineer can work on both iOS and Android
- Work with product, design and engineering leaders to resolve cross-team blockers during the dual-app period
- Mentor senior engineers and build the technical leadership pipeline for native mobile
- Set best practices across the mobile community
What they ask for
- 12+ years of software engineering with deep native iOS or Android expertise and strong proficiency in the other platform
- Track record owning outcomes across 2-3+ teams, including multi-phase platform migrations or rewrites
- Deep mobile performance expertise on iOS and Android
- Proven influence without authority at senior levels across teams
- Experience designing AI-native engineering workflows, such as LLM code generation or agent-based automation, adopted across teams
