The role
The company is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for native mobile on the App Infra team in Consumer & Business. The team is rewriting the retail app from React Native to Swift and Kotlin with AI-assisted code generation. You would build core app surfaces and the foundation for product teams moving to native.
What you will do
- Define architectural patterns, faster builds and better workflows for other frontend engineers
- Build core app surfaces in Swift and Kotlin, translating React Native flows into fast native implementations
- Work within the AI-assisted code generation loop, validating architecture and catching edge cases
- Review native PRs from onboarding product teams and fix slow paths such as flaky tests and painful deploys
- Optimize performance across device tiers, with attention to low-end Android
- Keep features and bug fixes in sync between native and React Native codebases
What they ask for
- 5+ years of iOS or Android engineering (Swift or Kotlin)
- Record of shipping performant apps with focus on frame stability, cold start and responsive UI
- Proficiency in Swift or Kotlin with working knowledge of the other, and willingness to build cross-platform skills
- Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines, build systems and release processes
