The role
The company is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its Developer Infrastructure Test team, which gives engineers fast, reliable test results. You will set the technical direction for how the company tests and ships software. Remote-first with quarterly in-person sessions.
What you will do
- Define the technical strategy for test infrastructure, with feedback speed as a core constraint
- Build and operate test orchestration, smart test selection, sharding, flaky-test detection and result analysis
- Improve test feedback speed and signal reliability across engineering
- Own systems end to end, including architecture, observability, SLOs and on-call
- Partner with teams to turn bottlenecks into platform improvements and mentor engineers
What they ask for
- 10+ years building and operating production software with distributed systems fundamentals
- Proficiency in Go or a similar language
- Deep experience in test infrastructure: execution at scale, flaky tests, test selection, sharding or result analysis
- Experience running reliable systems with Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub Actions, Terraform and Datadog
- Experience building SLOs and incident response processes
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight
- Attend quarterly in-person working sessions
