The role
The company is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to own the architecture of its identity verification platform, covering the decision engine and vendor orchestration used across Retail, Prime and Institutional. The role is backend-focused and the company is remote-first.
What you will do
- Own architecture and technical direction for the identity verification platform
- Migrate all verification onto one decision-engine-driven platform and retire legacy rules
- Build vendor-agnostic orchestration with real-time routing and failover
- Scale the platform to new products, regions and verification types with self-serve configuration
- Set abstractions, APIs and platform patterns for the wider Identity org
What they ask for
- 8+ years of backend engineering running large-scale production systems in regulated or fintech settings
- Technical leadership on complex cross-team backend systems
- Distributed-systems expertise covering scalability, reliability and high availability
- Expert coding in Go or a similar systems language, with gRPC, AWS and Kubernetes
- Experience in identity, KYC, fraud infrastructure, vendor orchestration or payments
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight
